1. A Home Remedy Story
From Mrs. S. A. Budges: Our daughter was about eight years old. We had gone on a camping trip.

She was playing hide and seek with her sisters and managed somehow to hug a tree that was covered with poison oak.

One side of her face, the inside of both arms, and one leg soon broke out in an angry-looking and itchy bright red rash.

Of course, we knew right away that she was having an allergic reaction to the poison oak.

We got some salve from the drug store and began putting it on the rash as quickly as we could, and I took her to the doctor as soon as we got home from the camping trip.

The doctor started her on a prescription by mouth (I don't remember what) and he gave her an injection (and I don't remember what that was, either). The rash didn't get any better.

We repeated the trip to the doctor twice more, with no results. The rash was getting worse all the time.

My husband's grandmother visited and saw the rash. She told us that to cure it we would need black powder and sweet cream. She had to explain what black powder was -- it is gun powder.

We found that .22 shotgun shells used old-fashioned black powder, so we bought those, added it to some whipping cream, and applied it to the rash. The rash was gone in three days.

I would never have believed it if I hadn't seen it with my own two eyes. It was like a miracle.

Within minutes of applying the black powder and sweet cream mixture to the poison oak, the itching stopped.

After we had applied it twice on the first day, the rash was looking much drier. By the end of the third day, it was difficult to see where the rash had been.

2. Knowledge can help you have a healthy heart through your life
Years ago people knew far less than we know now about how to have a healthy heart through your life. Lucky for us. Genetics plays a part, but even people who are genetically predisposed to heart disease can follow some simple guidelines to increase the likelihood that a heart attack will never be in their cards.

It's been know for a long time that smoking is more than a major contributor to lung cancer. It also is bad for the heart. Chemicals in the smoke irritate the circulator system, causing inflation in the arteries and, well, you can guess how bad that is for your heart. So, if you want to maintain a healthy heart, knock off the cigarettes.

Also, some of the latest research in medical science indicates that there is a link between gum disease and tooth decay and atherosclerosis, a leading cause of heart disease. That means the better you care for your mouth, the better it is for your heart. The same bacteria that cause gingivitis wreak havoc on your heart too. So, brush at least twice a day and floss daily per your dentist's instructions. Also, don't postpone your visits to your dentist. Get cavities taken care of right away, and preserve your teeth as long as possible. Missing teeth are another indicator that your heart may be in trouble.

Diet is another factor that affects the health of your heart. Some foods that are particularly good for the heart include those that are high in omega-3 fatty acids. Walnuts, cold-water fish, and olive oil are rich in omega-3 fatty acids. Also good for your heart are whole grains (forget the white bread and baked potatoes), fresh vegetables, especially tomatoes and eggplant. For dessert, serve up a little bowl of blueberries, and your heart will thank you.

Another key to having a healthy heart is exercise. Burn off that excess fat, especially around the abdomen. It's especially hard on your heart to carry fat around your belly. It secretes harmful proteins into your bloodstream, headed right for your heart. Pick something you like and stick with it. Running, biking, swimming, even walking are all very good. If you walk five miles a day, you'll burn 500 extra calories. And you don't have to do it all in one long walk. You can split it up into two or three shorter walks and still enjoy the benefits.

3. Is Atkins the only way for a high protein diet plan?
You don’t have to go on the Atkins diet to enjoy the benefits of a high protein diet plan. Atkins is not really about high protein only, but it does play a huge part in the plan. You can come up with your own diet plan if you learn something about dieting and what protein does for the body. You have to keep some balance to your diet, but adding extra protein can be very good for you, and has many great benefits. It might be a good idea to talk with your doctor about such a plan first, but that would be the best for your health. If they say it is unsafe, you may have to tweak your new diet plan into something a bit more on the healthy side.

Too much of anything can be a problem, and that can be said for protein as well. If you have a high protein diet plan that lacks too much of anything else, you can be setting yourself up for failure, and possibly some health problems. You must have some carbs in your diet, but you can stick with the healthy ones like fruits, vegetables, and natural grains. These do give you the energy that your body needs everyday, and should be a part of any good high protein diet plan. You don’t need much, but you do need some to feel good and function each day.

Don’t forget to have healthy fats in your high protein diet plan. When you eat a lot of protein and very few carbs, your body can start using fat as energy. If you stick with lean meats for your protein, you may not feel well after a while. Look up information on healthy fats for more information on the best ones to add to your diet. You don’t have to go overboard, but you should have at least some fats in your diet with high protein foods. You don’t want to eat a lot of trans-fats or saturated fats, but instead, find the ones that are actually good for your body.

Once you start your high protein diet plan, keep a journal of what you are eating and also how you are feeling each day. If you find that you are sleeping less, or even sleeping more, you should record that as well. You may notice that you are feeling better, which should be part of your goal, but you may also find that you are not feeling well at all. If that happens, take your journal to your doctor and talk with them about your high protein diet plan. It could be that you are not getting enough of the things you need to function each day. They may change your diet a bit, and tell you to take a vitamin each day. They may even recommend that you drop it completely for the sake of your health.

4. Ever heard of the Coffee Diet?
Many people need to lose some extra pounds that tend to show up in unflattering places on the body. One remedy that has attracted recent attention is the coffee diet.

Everyone knows that the only way to lose weight is to decrease your consumption of food and increase the amount of food that your body ‘burns’. Many people complain that even when they cut down their intake, they still do not lose very much weight. One problem may be that, even with increased exercise, they are not ‘burning’ enough calories.

One possible solution is by trying the coffee diet. The basic premise is that under this program, and with a decrease in eating and an increase in exercise, your body’s metabolism will be increased and you will ‘burn’ more calories. In addition, the increase in coffee will also help to suppress your appetite particularly for carbohydrates. Looks like you win all the way around using the coffee diet.

Under the coffee diet, you need to drink more coffee. You should also consume a normal breakfast in the morning to get your body’s metabolism working to help burn off your excess weight.

The idea is that you do not have to make any great changes in your lifestyle. Each cup of coffee contains about 100 mg of caffeine. On the coffee diet, after you drink your coffee, your metabolic rate can increase as much as 10%. For a person not used to drinking coffee, the coffee diet can increase the metabolism even more.

When your metabolic rate is increased while on the coffee diet, you burn more calories than before even when you are not active. Not that you can just sit there and burn off weight, but your body is burning calories faster.

The other potential benefit of the diet is that there are few side effects as with other products. Other than the normal ‘side effects’ of drinking coffee, everything is the same. Now of course, some people are sensitive to caffeine at any time. However, there are no artificial or unnatural chemicals in the coffee itself. Naturally, if you are trying this diet, don’t put three tablespoons of sugar into your coffee, and coffee ice cream does not count as a diet helper. However, if you like your coffee with a little cream and sugar, go low fat or sugar substitute.

Although you may think the idea of a coffee diet might just be another fad, there have been some scientific studies made on using it. The results showed that some people, but of course not everyone, benefited from the coffee diet.

5. Diets for High Cholesterol Can Save Your Life
Being health conscious is more important now than ever before. When you neglect your body by eating high fat foods and not exercising you run the risk of a whole host of health issues, including obesity and heart disease. Many people don’t pay any attention to what they eat until their doctor tells them their cholesterol level is too high. In most cases, if it’s only moderately high the physician will suggest one of the diets for high cholesterol. If it’s alarmingly high, medication may also be prescribed to lower it quickly.

One reason people are a little standoffish about the medications used to lower your bad cholesterol is because some of them are allegedly causing liver damage. This is why your doctor may simply tell you to change the way you eat. A diet to lower cholesterol can be really effective if the person is serious and sticks to it. Although you’ll have to change the way you view food, and give up certain foods, the benefits are well worth it.

Common sense plays a big part in healthy meal planning. If you’re trying to get in better shape, there are many fatty foods that you need to avoid. Diets for high cholesterol suggest staying away from things like red meat and heavy cream sauces. Eggs are also another source of cholesterol so be sure to limit the number you eat each week. If you want bacon with those eggs, your best bet is to opt for the turkey or chicken variety.

Whole grain foods are something you’ll need to get used to when you want to follow a meal plan like this. They have a positive impact on cholesterol in a short period of time. It’s easy to make the change to whole grains and many of the diets for high cholesterol suggest eating whole grain cereals and making sandwiches from seven grain bread. If you haven’t yet tried these products you’ll be pleasantly surprised by how good they actually taste.

Fruits and vegetables are really the staple of any diet that is designed for optimum health. You should really try and add at least one serving to each of your meals and turn to this food group when you are searching for a snack too. Fruit flavored yogurt is also found in many diets for high cholesterol but do be careful to avoid any that are sweetened with sugar.

Drink a lot of water each day. This is a good rule of thumb for everyone. If you get tired of plain water, try adding a little juice of lemon or lime to it. That brightens it up and gives it a cool, refreshing flavor. Red wine is the alcohol of choice included in some heart healthy diets but it does need to be consumed in moderation.

Once you adjust your palate and become accustomed to your new way of eating, you’ll never want to switch back to the French fries and burgers that used to sustain you. In addition to having a safe cholesterol level, you’ll also be slim and trim.

6. Proper motivation can be the key to a successful diet is
We all know someone who is constantly on a diet. Some people just don't seem to be able to lose the pounds and be done with it. If this sounds familiar, read on and see how to cut this project - and you - down to size, once and for all. All of the elements of a successful diet are of the common sense variety. You really don't need those expensive, trendy diet programs to get the results you need. For a successful diet, what you need most is motivation.

Although you may think you're motivated, you may be lacking in commitment. Make a list of the reasons why you feel you need to lose weight. Keep your list private, for your eyes only. Be brutally honest. If you need to lose more than a few pounds, your list is probably long. Now ask yourself if your reasons are worthy of your sincere commitment to the task. The answer must be yes. This sets you up, psychologically, to commit yourself with discipline and enthusiasm. "I don't want to be fat" isn't good enough. "I will not continue to be fat" is what you need to say.

Once you've made a firm commitment to losing weight, it becomes a day by day process of sticking to your guns. If you feel your determination slipping as you pass the ice cream parlor, remind yourself, "I will not continue to be fat." Successful diets are ones you follow.

Here's a news flash: you really can eat whatever you want, albeit in smaller portions than you'd like. In the case of Boston cream pie, the portion may be miniscule, but you can still indulge. Of course, it's best to fill out your five food groups before going after dessert. A sensible diet helps increase your energy and sense of well-being as you drop the pounds. Now, here's the secret of a successful diet that lets you indulge your tastebuds while losing weight. You add up the total number of calories you take in daily. When you reach that amount, that's all you get for the day. Simple as that. You'll lose weight. You may even find you'll modify your eating habits naturally. A giant salad fills you up with non-fattening, tasty nourishment. A candy bar only satisfies your sweet tooth. It's up to you.

The other essential component of a successful diet is regular exercise. Choose a form of exercise that you enjoy and can physically tolerate. Again, the trick is to do it every day, without fail.

This approach is guaranteed to drop the weight. You'll soon have people noticing the new you and complimenting you on your looks. This program becomes easier every day. You're well on your way to being slim and fit. Good luck!

7. Find out how the Lemonade Cleansing Diet Works
Fad diets come and go, but there are some approaches to weight loss that seem to stick around. One of those is the lemonade cleansing diet. It’s also called the Master Cleanse and it’s been in the news quite a bit lately, thanks to a slim celebrity. Beyonce announced during an appearance of Oprah that she lost twenty pounds in just two weeks doing the lemonade diet. Although she may be in the limelight, you don’t need to be a superstar to reap all the benefits of this health craze.

At first glance it can seem a bit disconcerting to imagine a diet that consists solely of lemonade for a number of days. The Master Cleanse was actually first designed as a way to rid the body of toxins. This is one of the most beneficial things about following the diet. Your body has a chance to take a break from food and all its additives, and instead focus on cleaning itself up. Many people who complete the lemonade cleansing diet say they never felt better. They have clear skin, an incredible amount of energy and they sleep like a baby. Even if you have just a few pounds to lose, or you’re already at your target weight, this citrus based health plan is for you.

The most important thing to remember when you are doing the Cleanse is that it’s a one day at a time endeavor. The first three days are said to be the worse. This is when you may be tempted to go look for some chocolate chip cookies in the pantry or a pint of vanilla ice cream in the freezer. Try your best to avoid falling off your diet wagon. Once those initial hunger pangs pass, you’ll start feeling vibrant and alive. You won’t even be hungry anymore. In fact, many people who plan on following the lemonade cleansing diet for ten days end up going longer, because they simply don’t crave food anymore.

Don’t worry that once you take your first bite of real food again that your hips will expand and your tummy will pop out. This isn’t the case at all. You should see the lemonade cleansing diet as a stepping stone to a healthier way of life. Once you’ve completed the Master Cleanse you’ll slowly introduce solids again, and it’s then that you want to make the right choices.

This is an eating plan that you can complete every few months. You’ll find that if you continue to do the Cleanse that your skin will stay blemish free and the scale will hover right where you want it. There’s nothing wrong with steering clear of food for a few days in pursuit of a healthier, stronger body. The lemonade diet can help you not only look your best but feel your best too.

8. Help Prevent Lashing Out though Anger Management Courses
It is impossible for someone to never get angry. Things always happen in our lives that make us angry and want to lash out. No one is perfect and it is okay to show emotion and get upset. However, some people can’t control their anger and they get way out of line. A solution for them is to take anger management courses to control their temper and to express it in a more suitable and respectable way.

When anger is mismanaged it can create a lot of problems, not only for the person who is upset but especially for those around them. Domestic abuse is a huge problem for someone who cannot control their anger. A man or woman may want to lash out at their spouse if they are angry and this creates a lot of problems in their marriage and even with their children. People who have attended anger management courses learn how to channel that anger so it’s not destructive.

Road rage is another problem caused by mismanaged anger. People will get beyond angry if someone cuts them off. In extreme cases of road rage, people have been shot or badly injured. Divorce is a common issue when a spouse has an anger management problem. No one wants to be around a person who is always angry and can’t control their temper. As much as a person may love another, there is always something that they can’t tolerate. It can be really difficult to watch love fade away in face of an issue with rage.

To avoid any of these situations, many people are finding it helpful to seek out professional help. One of the best avenues for this is anger management courses. It is nothing to be embarrassed of if you need help controlling your temper. If you are hesitant about seeing someone face-to-face you can always find help online. In addition to anger management classes, you can also utilize things like audio tapes and books to help learn how to shift the negative feelings into more positive ones.

Being mad doesn’t have to result in violent behavior or undue stress. One of the things that most people with anger issues don’t realize is how their outbursts affect other people. Once they get some instruction in how to manage their anger, they can begin to see how much calmer and happier everyone around them is, when they aren’t yelling and screaming because something didn’t go quite the way they wanted.

There is no use in bottling hostile feelings anymore. It not only damages you and the people around you that you care about the most, but it also isn’t healthy. Anger management courses will help you feel a lot better and really start enjoying a happier, more fulfilling life.

9. Allergy Shots are they For You?
When persistent allergies don’t respond to medication, or side effects interfere with treatment, allergy shots may be an option to consider. Immunotherapy is a series of injections given to desensitize asthma and allergy sufferers from specific allergens, which are determined through extensive skin and blood testing. Allergy shots are like vaccinations because they boost the defenses of the immune system to help the body block the allergic reaction. To be effective, the shots are given on a typical schedule of twice weekly, weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly. For the first three to six months the dosage is increased gradually with each injection, which gives the body time to accept the allergen as harmless. For long-term allergy relief, sometimes monthly shots are the best bet for allergy relief.

Allergy shots are a common treatment prescribed for allergic rhinitis or hay fever, as it is most commonly known and allergy-induced asthma. Allergies can be seasonal due to trees, grasses, and weeds, or occur throughout the year, indicating sensitivity to indoor allergens too. Dust and dust mites are common irritants, as well as molds and pet dander, so people with a beloved cat or dog would choose treatment any day than part with a member of their family. Unfortunately, for people with allergies to their favorite foods, like seafood for instance, the only treatment is to abstain completely because there is no vaccine yet available. Reactions to bees, yellow jackets, wasps, and hornets can also be decreased or eliminated with immunotherapy, meaning that there would no longer be a need to carry an Epi Pen for possible anaphylactic reaction.

If you’re considering allergy shots, you’ve probably been experiencing symptoms for quite some time. Immunotherapy testing is the best way to confirm that your symptoms are being caused by allergies, and to determine the specific allergens to be focused on during treatment. Allergy symptoms won’t go away overnight, but you will experience a noticeable amount of relief within a year of starting therapy. Immunotherapy is very safe, but because it uses everything that makes you miserable, the possibility of a local or systemic reaction occurring can’t be ignored. This is why patients are required to stay in the waiting area for a specified amount of time following administration of the allergy shots. Don’t let this scare you; the benefits of immunotherapy far outweigh the remote possibility that a severe reaction may occur. The decision to make the commitment to proceed with therapy truly depends on just how uncomfortable you are, and how satisfied you are with your present treatment regimen.

10. Everyone Should Know about some Common Adult Asthma Symptoms
Most of us know at least one individual who has asthma. This chronic condition is unfortunately very common. It can start when a person is young, or in some cases, it appears later in life. It’s always a good idea to know the common adult asthma symptoms so you can recognize when someone is suffering with the disease. Although most people who do have asthma are well aware of it and take all the necessary precautions to control it, an attack can suddenly come on.

Difficulty breathing is a scary thing. It can happen when a person has choked, when they are having a heart attack and it’s also one of the common adult asthma symptoms. In the case of asthma the breathing will often take on a wheezing quality. This is generally when the person with asthma will reach for their inhaler. It contains medication that is designed to help open their breathing passages. Although there have been some remarkable advances in medications in the area of asthma, a lot of sufferers still rely on their trusty inhaler in the event they do find it hard to breathe.

Pain in the chest is often associated with heart problems. If you see someone wincing and putting their hand to their chest you are likely going to assume they are having a heart attack. You may not need to call an ambulance if the person is an asthma sufferer. They’ll likely be able to tell you that it’s because of their asthma. This is one of the adult asthma symptoms that may be brought on by things like over exertion or poor air quality. Sometimes when a person with asthma travels to a highly industrialized city, they’ll find that they have a lot of tightening in their chest. With their air passages being irritated in this way, it’s easy to see how it could happen.

Excess perspiration strikes almost everyone during the hot summer months. Air conditioning helps loads with it, but that’s not the cure for someone with asthma. Sweating is one of the adult asthma symptoms that are obvious to the eye. It might come during a time when the person is having difficulty breathing or is experiencing chest pain. It’s not uncommon for the sweating to be profuse.

Just as breathing is affected by this disease, so is the rate at which the heart beats. Asthma patients know that when they are struck with an attack they can expect their heart to race. Their pulse will be high and they’ll feel a pounding in their chest. This is alarming, naturally but it’s important to realize that it’s one of the symptoms of an asthma attack that will quickly pass once the attack subsides.

This can seem like a terrifying condition if you aren’t aware of what to expect. Once you understand the common adult asthma symptoms it’s easier to recognize when someone is suffering with the disease, it’s also easier to not panic and instead mistake their illness for something else.

11. Find out about ADHD Treatment options
When most people think about the treatment of ADHD, they only contemplate one option: drugs. In reality, however, there are quite a few different ADHD treatment options available if you know where to look. Although some people do best with Ritalin or Dexedrine, while others need counseling on how to organize and schedule their lives, most ADHD patients actually do best with a combination of approaches.

When I was diagnosed with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder as a teenager, my parents did not hesitate at all before putting me on the meds. After all, back then it was just the thing to do. The problem was that I did not really like my Ritalin. When I was on it, I always felt kind of a bit stoned. When I was off of it, I felt really scattered. If anything, I was in a worse place than before I began the medication.

My parents quickly realized that they would have to look into other ADHD treatment options. They told me to stay on the medicine in the mean time, but they took me in to see a counselor to find out what else could be done. The counselor was actually a doctor of juvenile medicine who was skilled at treating ADHD, learning disabilities, and other mental development issues. He proposed a novel technique called biofeedback.

Although it is now a routine part of most ADD treatments nowadays, at the time biofeedback was a pioneering technique. Basically, I would be set up at a laptop computer with a compact disc of my choosing inside. When my brain was acting in a certain way characteristic of concentration, the music would turn on. When my brain stopped acting in that way, the music would turn off again. Over weeks of treatment, I slowly but surely learned how to control the machine using only the action of my own brain.

Nowadays, this is becoming one of the best and most popular ADHD treatment options out there. For many people, it is not enough alone, but it definitely does help. For many people, ADHD treatment options like this allow them to use little or no ADD medicine. It allowed me to take a much lower dose of Ritalin, while concentrating much more fully than ever before. My grades went way up, I was happier, and I even had more free time (since I was getting all of my work done.) All in all, I would say that it was a very effective course of treatment.

12. Addictive Behaviors can place you in uncomfortable places
Have you ever gone out for a night with some friends simply intending to drink one or two beers and found yourself drinking endlessly without being able to stop? Or, have you gone shopping for one item and came home with handfuls of bags of things that you didn’t need? Maybe you have had a bad day and instead of eating just one candy bar to make yourself feel better, you’ve eaten five or six and not even realized what you’re doing? All of those actions can be classified as addictive behaviors. Most people think that addictive behaviors only relate to alcoholism or drug abuse. What they don’t realize is that there are so many behaviors that people engage in on a daily basis are addictive and usually have underlying reasons as to why they’re unable to stop being caught up in them.

One addictive behavior that people think is simply a bad habit or poor judgment is shopping. Men or women will go shopping for a few items. They have no intentions of buying anything other than what is on their list. They know that they cannot afford to purchase anything more than that. Suddenly, they are walking out with bags full of extra things that they couldn’t remember even picking up. Somehow, their plastic credit cards were swiped more than they can remember. The bill arrives a month later and the individual has not a clue what they bought so much for in the first place. Addictive shopping can be more than just a bad habit. It can be a harmful activity that causes people to slip more and more into debt and they might even hide their addictive behavior from spouses.

Of course, people will acknowledge gambling as an addictive behavior. Overeating can be considered an addictive behavior. Having a bad day and sitting down to eat one small piece of cake, candy or anything and then looking down to discover that you ate the entire cake is an addictive behavior. Being convinced that you’re fat and boycotting food until you are skinnier than what is considered healthy is an addictive behavior as well.

Interestingly enough, the main driving force behind nearly all addictive behaviors is depression. Depression can cause all types of behaviors to surface without even realizing it, and forcing people to become obsessive, compulsive, and lose control of their behaviors is more than enough of evidence. When you find yourself not being able to stop drinking, eating or engaging in whatever behavior is making you feel more fulfilled or alive, then you know that it is time to admit that you have an addiction. It can be treated with therapy provided that you are willing to battle your demons and are determined to be the winner. Seek professional advice and assistance before your life becomes more out of control than it already is and before you end up hurting people who care about you or even complete strangers. Addictions can be overcome when you’re willing to take the challenge. It may be the most difficult challenge of your lifetime, but it could also be the most rewarding challenge as well.

14. Learn about Heart Disease prevent Heart Attacks
You may associated heart attacks with or as a life ending episode. That is not always true, as more and more people are recovering from these attacks and even going on to have normal lives afterwards. Though some heart episodes do end lives, others are just warnings to take it easy or to make some changes that are more beneficial to the heart. These changes can lead to a longer and more fulfilling life. Changing lifestyle habits does not mean you have to give up all that you love, but you do have to make some adjustments.

If you love steak, you may not have to give it up after heart attacks, but you do have to rethink what type of you get and how often you eat it. You will want to talk with your doctor, of course, but some can have very lean cuts of steak once in a while. Beef is often considered off limits, but you can find exceptionally lean cuts these days that are not as bad for the heart. There are also lean cuts of many other types of meats that can be added to a heart healthy diet. Think about lean pork, chicken breast, and some seafoods.

You will want to eat more vegetables for your diet after having heart attacks, but there are many ways you can jazz them up. There are great spices and rubs out there that you can use with your veggies that make them taste phenomenal, even for those that don’t like to eat any type of vegetable. You may even to them on the grill outside for an even better taste. Just remember to skip the butter and even the margarine for even more benefit for your heart and your overall health.

Those who have had heart attacks also find that they are advised to get more activity, but you do have to be careful about what type of activity you take on. Some types are good and others are just too strenuous. That means asking your doctor which are the best for your particular situation. Walking is a great way to start getting more activity after most types of heart attacks, but anyone who is not used to much activity has to take things slow. Walk around the yard a bit before you walk around the block, and then see how it goes from there. Heart attacks do not have to be death sentences, and life can be somewhat normal as long as you know what to do.

Please learn more about Heart Disease for you and your loved one.

17. Safe weight loss How to lose weight quickly
Like so many of us, you've packed on a few pounds over the holidays. When it comes time to make New Year's resolutions, weight loss is on your short list of resolutions you intend to keep. So now it's time to walk the talk. How can you lose weight quickly, yet safely? You know about the food groups, proper nutrition and a balanced diet, but somehow when it gets right down to doing it, you get sort of a panicky feeling. "Can I really do it?" The answer is a resounding yes! Losing weight quickly is easy, but doing it safely requires a little more thought. Check out these simple tips and achieve your goal with ease.

So your anniversary is coming up in March or your vacation plans include a bikini. In either case, you want to feel as good as you look. Losing weight quickly could be as simple as not eating, but you know that's not a good solution. You'll lose the weight, but you'll feel the worse for wear and your good looks will suffer. That's not a winning plan. Losing weight quickly and well requires a disciplined approach to the calories you consume, with an eagle eye on the nutrients contained in those foods.

Fruits and veggies come so highly recommended, as well they should be. These foods are loaded with vitamins and minerals, antioxidants and fiber. What more could a dieter ask? Breakfast can consist of a fruit smoothie, a filling concoction with all the virtues of fruits, topped off with calcium from the milk or yogurt part of this delightful beverage. When you add up the calories, they're very few. However, you're full until lunch.

Make salad your best lunch friend. Again, losing weight quickly does take discipline, but it needn't be torture. Load that salad plate up with fresh, crisp greens and your favorite salad veggies. Get some protein on that plate. Doesn't thin, grilled slices of chicken breast sound good? Get out your calorie counter and do the addition. It's a good deal.

When you're dieting, it's best to eat light for dinner. It's not likely you're going out after eating and burning off calories. You'll sleep better on a light meal anyway. Broil a small portion of lean meat for a first course. Have a couple of slices of cheese and a piece of fruit for the second course. Kick back for a few minutes, then fix yourself a cup of cocoa and call it a night. The warm milk will help you sleep. You've had a whole day of nutritious foods that help build your body's strength, but the calorie intake has been minimal.

Follow this general plan, enjoy good taste and plenty of nutrition. Before you know it, you've achieved your goal and are looking and feeling super!Remember safe weight loss is the key to a better life.

18. Living a Healthy Lifestyle may not be as hard as you think
I know what you are thinking. If you have spent much of your life not paying attention to what you eat and what you do each day, you may have no idea or even any desire to adopt a healthy lifestyle. There are many reasons why people want to start living this way, and many times it has to do with losing weight, or having some sort of health scare. Some just worry more about the health of their body as they get older and realize they really are not immortal. This is not something that has to be as hard as you may imagine.

Changing the way you eat is one of the first things you want to consider when thinking about a healthy lifestyle. You don’t have to give up the foods that you love, but you may want to change the way that you prepare them at home. If you love fast food, you will need to find ways to cut back on how many times you eat out and even what choices you make when you roll up to the window to make an order. There are some healthy choices when you must eat on the run, so think about those before you eat that burger and fries that are not always the best choices.

Your new healthy lifestyle should include some exercise. Many groan when they hear this, and think they have to join a gym or put a treadmill in their bedroom. The truth is that most who join a gym quit within a month, and treadmills often become just another piece of furniture. Instead, think about things you may like to do instead. Walking and even hiking are great ways to add exercise to your new healthy lifestyle. Hobbies and sports are much better additions when you want to get up and move, as they are more satisfying for both body and mind.

Smoking and drinking can get in the way of your choice to live a healthy lifestyle as well. Smoking should be stopped as soon as possible, and drinking should be cut down substantially. You might also want to think about some of your personal relationships. If you have friends that cause you quite a bit of stress, they can derail your plans without you realizing what they are doing. They don’t mean to do it, but their stress and negative energy can bring you down as well. Try to surround yourself with positive people, and also try to cheer those around you who are prone to being negative.

19. What can reading Health Fitness Articles do for you?
I have always been the kind of person to study something in depth before getting my feet wet. A lot of people call me obsessional, but I don't see it that way. For me, it is all about getting all the information I need to so I can make the right decisions. That is why, when I decided to get in shape, I read all the health fitness articles that I could before I took my first step on the tread mill. By reading fitness and health articles until I felt like I was an expert, I was able to design the optimum workout for my needs.

Health fitness articles are one of the most popular reading subjects nowadays. Our culture is kind of a paradox if you think about it. On the one hand, we have bigger problems with obesity than ever before. On the other hand, more and more people are obsessed with staying healthy and fit. I guess it makes sense if you look at it right. In a culture where people have healthy eating habits and exercise regularly, health fitness articles are less important. In a culture were people don't know anything about staying in shape, however, articles on staying healthy are a godsend.

As I said before, I read a lot of health fitness articles, but not all of them stuck. I was surprised because the ones that made the most impact were the ones with the most general and common sense rules. For example, my favorite health fitness article was about exercising. It said that the biggest mistake that people make is to find overambitious exercise routines based on someone else's idea of the perfect exercises. It advised me to come up with a routine that involve activities that I actually enjoyed instead of activities that I thought would develop the most muscle mass or cardiovascular strength. Knowing this, I was able to incorporate bicycle riding and swimming – two activities that I absolutely love – into a good workout.

I also read a health fitness article that told me the relationship between eating habits and exercising. This is really important for me because I also had bad eating habits in addition to being too sedentary. They tell me that eating the right foods would give me the energy that I would need to work out and stay active. Wouldn't you know it – once I started changing my diet, I did have more impetus to get out and start running around.

20. More Safe Weight Loss Tips
No matter if you are carting a few extra around the middle or are pleasing plump, no one wants to be overweight. Everyone is looking for some efficient weight loss tips.

The fastest way to losing those middling extra pounds is the most basic of all weight loss tips: cut down your consumption of food. I know. I know. That is easier said than done.

Although, many experts recommend various ways to eat less food without causing too much change in lifestyle. Those weight loss tips about food consumption center on slightly changing your eating habits. If you are used to making two slices of wheat toast in the morning with your breakfast, cut down to one. Then if you demand more food, you have to go through all the work of making more. You might find the extra work is not worth the pain and you have saved some calories.

Another of these weight loss tips is to cut out one of the your habitual snack times that you might regularly have. If you normally take that ten o'clock coffee break with a cookie, just work through a little longer. If you desire the snack break, do it. However, by then, it is closer to lunch and you could find that you are not as hungry at lunch and devour less than you normally would.

Another variety of weight loss tips involves changing the food that we feed upon. We all most likely need to reduce our consumption of sugars and fats, the weight builders. Let's be perfectly honest though, a carrot will never satisfactorily be a replacement for a candy bar even though that is want we should be eating. However, there are alternatives, lower calorie alternatives, to that Reese cup. Try some popcorn instead of purchasing that candy bar to eat at the movies. The popcorn has fewer calories and is more filling, satisfying your impulse to eat. That is one of my precious weight loss tips.

Other substitutes may include a baked potato instead of french fries. And of course, the best of the weight loss tips is stay away from the typical fast foods that you probably are munching down on too frequently.

The other category of weight loss tips is exercise. Too many people begrudge the routine and regime of normal exercise programs. This is a tough place to give advice. We all no how influential regular exercise is for our health and good looks. Nevertheless, there are ways to reinforce the amount of exercise we get without an extra trip to the gym. Studies have shown that people whop walk faster tend to keep their weight better than people who walk more slowly. Pick up the pace when you are roaming about the mall.

If excess weight is a serious concern for you, the best of the weight loss tips is to consult with a qualified weight loss management expert.

The bottom line is that you need to get active in your health and take control in these and other areas of your life. Weight loss tips are just starting points for you to consider, but can be very helpful if you have the right mind set.

21. See what the miracle of juice fasting can do for you
If you’ve ever decided to trade your appetite for a liquid diet you will understand the miracle of juice fasting. For centuries people have made a conscious choice to forego all food for a day, a week, a month or even longer so they can experience the miracle of juice fasting.

The miracle of juice fasting is essentially the results that you will feel when you only consume fresh, unprocessed juice. The juice is squeezed each day and consumed almost immediately to ensure that all the natural vitamins and minerals are absorbed by the body.

People who routinely fast will tell you that the first miracle of juice fasting that you will experience is how quickly the hunger pangs disappear. If we sit and think about not eating our mind begins to play tricks and we end up craving high fat, nutritionally barren foods.

Instead with the miracle of juice fasting you are getting all the vitamins and minerals you need each day while at the same time your body isn’t having to process the refined sugars, flours and animal fats that it would normally do.

The cleansing of your system is a miracle of juice fasting that almost everyone should experience. Our digestive systems work hard to process everything that we eat. Over time a person might begin to experience irregularity because the body is beginning to slow down the digestive process. The miracle of juice fasting in relation to digestion is that the juice works to cleanse the body which helps to give the digestive system a much needed boost.

Many of the foods that an average person eats on a daily basis contain chemicals and preservatives. These substances are absorbed into the organs and tissues of the body. With years of eating in this manner, the body becomes so polluted that things don’t function as they should.

The process of flushing out the body is a miracle of juice fasting. The body has no choice but to clean itself out when the only thing being taken in is juice. The faster will notice that they must visit the restroom more often which is a very good sign. This means that the toxins that were in the body are now leaving.

Regular fasters will tell you that the miracle of juice fasting is obvious if you look at how healthy they are. Quite often, people who fast on a regular basis will have clear skin, healthy teeth and nails and an incredible amount of energy.

Whether you decide to fast for a day or a month, the miracle of juice fasting can’t be ignored. With your doctor’s permission perhaps now is the time for you to give it a try and see how much better you look and feel when you choose a glass of carrot juice over a hamburger.

22. Can Mangosteen Juice help prevent Heart Disease?
Mangosteen juice is becoming a very popular dietary health supplement in the United States and around the world. Mangosteen juice is marketed under the name XanGo, and is only available from XanGo distributors. Mangosteen juice is made from the mangosteen fruit that is grown in regions of Southeast Asia and South America. It has been used by local healers for centuries and the subject of many scientific research studies for over 35 years. The mangosteen fruit contains approximately 43 different xanthones, which are strong antioxidants that fight off free radicals and other invaders of our immune systems. The mangosteen has the most concentrated number of xanthones than any other plant. This is very impressive, considering that there are at least 200 xanthones identified in other plant sources; the mangosteen fruit has over 43!

Mangosteen juice was relatively unavailable to populations outside of Southeast Asia and South America until one of the founders of XanGo discovered this fruit and its health benefits, and suggested converting it into a highly consumable form, mangosteen juice or XanGo. It was then that it could be made available to the masses around the world. Mangosteen juice has proven to be effective as a natural Cox II inhibitor, strong anti-inflammatory agent, anti-tumor agent, anti-hypertensive, anti-fungal, anti-viral, anti-depressant, anti-pyretic (lowers fevers), anti-glaucomic, anti-cataract, anti-allergy, anti-asthma, anti-aging, anti-lipidemic (lowers cholesterol), anti-hyperglycemic (lowers high blood sugar), anti-obesity, and even is effective in treating Parkinson’s and Alzheimer’s diseases. You’re probably wondering just what else mangosteen juice can treat? It can also be used as a wet to dry dressing to treat topical conditions such as eczema and psoriases, and has been effective in treating burns and promotes healing.

Do you think that all this talk about how great mangosteen juice is just too good to be true? There’s no other way to experience the great taste and many health benefits of mangosteen juice unless you try it for yourself. What have you got to lose? You could be the next XanGo consumer to have increased energy levels and enjoy better health. Mangosteen juice is for the whole family and isn’t contraindicated for any medical condition and has no side effects. It’s all natural and tastes great, unlike many other dietary supplements out there that you can barely choke down. 23. Fish Oil Supplements Offers More Brain Power
It seems as though not a day goes by when we don’t hear a medical expert talking about the benefits of more Omega-3 fatty acids in our diets. It’s said to not only improve brain function but it’s also thought to help with keeping the heart healthy. People who suffer from lupus and even depression have found some relief from the symptoms of their conditions by taking a daily dose of fish oil supplements. These convenient capsules are one of the best sources for Omega-3 fatty acids.

Eating fish itself can also offer many of the same benefits as taking the supplements. There has been some concern though with consuming large quantities of fish because of potential problems with mercury. If you’re feeling a little uneasy, and maybe unsure about the prospect of eating mackerel, salmon or tuna too many times a week, add fish oil supplements to your diet. They can be taken either with or without a meal and are sold just about everywhere.

If you’ve suffered through the pain of arthritis for any length of time you know that it’s a tiring task. Although there are many medications that can help relieve that pain, they also often come with some serious side-effects including digestion problems. Fish oil supplements have given many people a lot of relief when taken on a regular basis. They do take a few weeks to really make a difference, but if the doctor gives the green light, there’s no reason why a person with arthritis shouldn’t take this all natural approach to managing the pain and stiffness of their condition.

Expecting moms are always on the look-out for products that can help boost the health of their unborn children. With a doctor’s approval, fish oil capsules may offer tremendous benefits to the baby. One common concern with newborns is the problem of eczema. This skin condition can start when a child is young and progress to a real life changing issue when adulthood arrives. Supplements that are rich in Omega-3 fatty acids may actually help with this problem during gestation. They may also offer improvement in the area of allergies. Soon-to-be moms may want to have a talk with their obstetrician about the benefits of taking a supplement daily.

Individuals with migraines sometimes suffer for years while in search of something that will help alleviate their pain. Fish oil supplements may just be the answer they’ve been looking for. When added to a healthy diet, they can actually lessen the effects of migraines. For those who haven’t found relief from traditional medicine, it’s certainly worth a try.

Staying as healthy as possible is something everyone wants to do. Adding supplements to a balanced diet, along with a good dose of daily exercise goes a long way to ensuring you live as long, and as comfortably as possible.

24. Muscle Building Supplements can help with your daily routines
I've never had a very muscular build before, so that's something I've wanted to work on for a while now. I don't necessarily want to bulk up like an elite athlete or bodybuilder, but I do want to add some tone and definition. I've consulted with a personal trainer about this, and he seems to think that because of my small frame, I should use muscle building supplements to help get the results I want.

Since I didn't know anything about muscle building supplements, I asked my trainer to give me more information about the pros and cons of using those types of products. I wanted to take some time to review the information before running out to the store to spend my money on muscle building supplements that might not even be right for me. My trainer gave me a few pamphlets and sent me on my way.

Basically, I learned that there's a huge difference between steroids and all-natural muscle building supplements. I definitely don't want to get into steroids because of all the dangerous side effects that people can experience, even after just short-term use. Instead, I'm more interested in the natural products, such as whey and protein powders that contain Glutamine. These are safe and effective, plus I'll never have to worry about any unwanted side effects.

After doing my research, I decided to go ahead and add muscle building supplements to my daily routine to help me get the most out of my workouts. I went to a local health and fitness store to buy the brands that my trainer recommended, but left empty-handed. It's not that the store didn't have what I wanted; it's just that the products were far more expensive than I thought they would be! I figured it would be better to look for an online supplier that can offer discounts prices on top muscle building supplements than pay extra for the exact same stuff.

It didn't take long for me to find what I needed on the Internet. There are hundreds of websites that sell muscle building supplements online, and that's good news for consumers because it means the stores have to offer competitive prices if they want to stay in business. As a result, I was able to buy the products I wanted for less than half the retail price -- and I got free shipping thrown into the bargain as well.

Now that my muscle building supplements are on the way, I can finally schedule that first workout with my trainer. I'm looking forward to getting in shape because I want to look good and boost my self-confidence, two things that I'm definitely willing to sacrifice a few hours in the gym to achieve!

25. Finding current health articles to keep you in the know
In today's highly polluted and highly stressed out world, it is important to always read current health articles to know what new risks you might be facing and what you can do to minimize them. Reading current health articles is especially important in certain areas of health. Cancer research, for example, is recently skyrocketing, with more articles about new potential breakthroughs in cancer than ever before. There are genetic therapies, microscopic treatments, super powered new drugs, and all other types of promising avenues of research which are on the horizon. At the same time, the ability to diagnose risk factors such as genetic factors, toxic locations, and poor eating habits has vastly grown recently. But against this, we have more toxins from plastics, aerosols, pesticides, and food additives increasing our risks of developing one strain or another of this terrible and often lethal disease. By reading current health articles and taking their advice, we can increase our chance of avoiding cancer or of battling it successfully if we can not avoid it.

Reading current health articles can also help you in other areas of health, and even in overall happiness. Science has recently discovered what many of us have known all along but been unable to prove: that healthy habits in general generate happiness, success and a long life. Positive thinking boosts your immune system, and a clean and sane environment can reduce stress on your body, which will in turn contribute to your longevity. Meditation has been found to be, according to many current health articles, almost as powerful as its proponents have claimed it to be since ancient times in curing all sorts of diseases and creating a calm mind which can cope with anything that the day throws at it.

Of course, many things will claim to be current health articles, but actually be snake oil from some manipulative and dishonest con which seeks to take advantage of your earnest desire to be healthy, so it is important to be aware of these sorts of schemes. For example, some so called current health articles will promise miracle cures by ingesting this element or that preparation, as if there is such a thing as a miracle. Science is discovering all sorts of useful compounds which can help aid us in fighting many diseases, but you should be extremely skeptical of anything that promises a miracle; there are no miracles, but only facts.

26. Safeguarding your kids health is so important today
If you're a parent, you worry about your kids health and well-being. You want your kids to grow up healthy and happy, but sometimes it seems like an uphill battle. Besides the colds, flus and other childhood illnesses, there are other issues that are ongoing. You hear about the epidemic proportions of childhood obesity in this country. Lack of adequate exercise combined with poor dietary habits, along with too many sodas and unhealthy snacks contributes. So what's a parent to do? Here are a few tips that help you nurture kids health and take a load off your list of worries.

It's never too early to start instilling healthy habits in your kids. Demonstrate by example. For snacks and beverages, choose fruit, yogurt, cheese and crackers, and juices. If a toddler gets used to receiving cookies, candy and sodas for between-meal fare, you'll have a hard time changing these habits later.

Other kids health issues can crop up as a result of these sugar fests. For example, tooth decay can begin early. Youngsters as young as six can become overweight, causing a lifelong struggle with weight management. So when the kids start saying how mean you are to deprive them, buck up. It is truly for the benefit of the kids health.

To encourage a habit of exercise, again, set the example. Take your kids for walks, go to the park, zoo or anywhere that walking is part of the activity. Team sports are a fun and vigorous activity which promotes good circulation and muscle development. If kids get used to being active, they'll want to continue to do so. Consistency ultimately wins.

Another good strategy is to teach kids about nutrition. Teach them about vitamins and minerals and what parts of the body they benefit. A little boy wants to be strong and agile. If he knows that protein builds muscle while fat simply adds fat to his body, he''s motivated to go for the protein. Pre-teens can be motivated to eat fruits and vegetables if they realize that the nutrients they contain will prevent a lot of pimples, whereas those tasty fries encourage excess oil in their skin and thus more pimples. Get a good nutrition guide and you can make your own home study course that's age appropriate. Your kids will enjoy showing off what they know to their friends. Your home kids health nutrition class can be fun for the kids, help combat peer pressure and build your kid's confidence in one fell swoop.

27. Have you been looking for Ideal bodies online
A body weight chart is what is used to calculate ideal body weight. “How much should I weigh?” you ask. You can use a body weight chart to answer this and other perplexing questions which are essential for healthy eating and healthy living. A body mass indicator, or body weight chart, essentially tells you for a certain height and build and gender, how much you should way to have a certain percentage of fat and the rest muscle. Usually, you will only want %5 body fat, or there abouts, and an ideal body weight chart will tell you where that is.

Editors note: The dedicated team at Ideal Bodies Online is excited to be able to help you achieve a healthy, active lifestyle - without the usual feelings of deprivation that are often associated with dieting. If you're looking for Sue Heintze's Ideal Bodies Online you'll find the site here:http://www.idealbodiesonline.com/. You can get the book from Craig's site and also Sue sells them from her Business Ideal Bodies online.

Of course, a body weight chart by itself isn't enough to get in good shape, and many people say that you shouldn't even worry too much about your ideal body weight. What you should do, instead of worrying how much should I weigh all the time, is simply to begin trying to establish the healthy habits that are most essential. Eat right, consuming lots of fresh vegetables and grains, as well as lean meats, while cutting out starches and fatty foods. Exercise every day for at least half an hour. Get plenty of sleep and drink a lot of water. Your body weight chart might tell you when you're nearing your goals, but it isn't the goals that matter so much as living healthy all along. I was a terrible couch potato for years, sitting in front of my computer or my tv, watching dvds, and working in an office chair all day. This made me fat, achy and unhealthy, and I even ate lots of junk food. Needless to say, I was no where near my ideal body weight, that is for sure. I ordered a body weight chart, but all it did was sit up on my wall and remind me that I was over weight when I took an occasional break from eating my twinkies and sinking my fat ass into the couch.

What really helped me wasn't the body weight chart or asking how much should I weigh all the time, but simply realizing that I didn't really enjoy my life the way that I was. I resolved to do something about it finally, and got on it, with exercising, eating right, and developing a more healthy attitude towards the world. It took more than a couple of months, but it really wasn't that long until I reached my ideal body weight and a state of happiness greater than I've had in years.

28. Acne diets can do more than just clear your skin
If you have acne and have been wondering about acne diets that can heal acne then this is an article you may want to read.

Do you have acne? This affliction can be a rather traumatic one if left untreated. Our appearance, as we all know, can have such a pertinent effect on our confidence, or lack there of. How is your skin looking these days? It's certainly no rarity to be tormented by acne, but you should never let this skin disorder get the best of you. It's time to stand up tall, and demand your life back. With the oodles of resources at our disposal, there's no reason why we can't strive to be acne free. While proper skin care and reliable treatments are crucial in getting rid of blemishes, many people overlook the other things. It's not just about your exterior, folks. We have to consider what goes on inside us as well. This brings me to the topic of acne diets. What do you eat?

Plus, Fiber-enriched acne diets also help in cleaning the body on the inside.

You may or may not have come across the subject of acne diets. This pertains to what you consume and how it affects your skin. I recall a few winters ago I was sitting in the doctor's office with my wife. She was there for a back pain assessment. I had severely chapped lips at the time and asked her if she had some lip balm in her purse. The doctor looked at me with a smirk and said, "You know, the condition of your lips actually relates to your diet." Huh? She informed me that consuming the proper nutrients and fluids on a regular basis would prevent my lips from being chapped. This baffled me. However, these days I have adopted a more nutritious diet and refrain from using lip balm. What do you know; I never have chapped lips anymore. It's bizarre how some things work. This concept also applies to our skin. Did you know that the food you eat excretes back through your pores? Well, substances from them do anyway. This gives whole new meaning to the phrase, you are what you eat. This is why acne diets may be important for some individuals. Foods high in fat and grease are known for causing breakouts. I'm talking about fast foods, especially.

When it comes to acne diets, foods that are great for your skin include, fruits and vegetables, organic products, non-processed items, and of course water. I highly recommend that you give acne diets a shot if pimples are giving you trouble. This should certainly better your complexion if you stick to it. For more information on acne diets, you can simply hop online.

29. Safe WeightLoss for You
Without a doubt, we live in a society obsessed with weight loss. What is the best weight loss program? Who knows! There are so many absurd ways to drop pounds and inches these days, how can one ever fathom what to choose? To reach your best weight loss it is always good to have a regular exercise regime. While many hard-working Americans claim that they're too busy for such a feat, many are probably just to lazy. Any exercise is better than no exercise.

-Safe weight loss programs are designed to lose more fat, and less lean tissue - this means weight loss of about 1- 2 pounds a week and no more.

My wife is always trying to discover the best weight loss routine. Currently she is infatuated with Weight Watchers. She simply loves their system. You basically have a certain number of points per day, and you try to stay within your points. Now different foods and meals represent different points. Therefore a cheeseburger from the fast food restaurant down the street is going to have much more points than an apple. You hop on your computer and add up your points for the day, and essentially make sure you stayed within the weight loss parameters, or nothing is accomplished. This is an interesting and popular idea.

-Remember: Safe weight loss programs are designed to lose more fat, and less lean tissue.

One thing, I think most of us can agree on is that Americans eat horribly. We're a bunch of fast food junkies, who grab a diet Coke with a jelly doughnut. What's that all about? It's ridiculous if you think about it. In reality we have to monitor what we eat and exercise to obtain the best weight loss. We've always known this classic method to be effective, but we constantly look for some easy way around it. No one wants to work for anything anymore!

-Personal Dietitian designs safe weight loss programs and nutritionally sound eating plans for the short and long term success of its clients.

From mostly meat diets to cold cereal diets, we have invented a number of ways to achieve that size 6 or 0 or whatever the goal may be. Many resort to plastic surgery to reach best weight loss. This can be a righteous measure with the right person. Some of us need that extra liposuction or stomach staple. Which ever your method of weight loss, it is prudent to speak with a professional before deciding on a routine or diet. Many people forget that once you're thin, it doesn't end. You constantly have to work for that trim figure, therefore always having to keep a strict diet and exercise regime. The funny thing is the time we put into these weight loss programs. I watch my wife spend plenty of time entering her meals on the computer when she could be exercising. Either way, a healthy diet and physical activity are proven healthy for a longer life. However, as Bruce Willis said, "They claim that each hour of exercise adds an hour to your life, well what good is that time if you spend it all exercising?"

30. Antioxidant the power behind anti-aging supplements
Who doesn’t like the idea of fighting the effects of aging? Lets face it, we all pretty much want to live as long as possible, so the idea of anti-aging supplements is a pretty attractive one. Well, if you’ve been taking anti-aging supplements and hoping to live forever, I have some bad news for you; you can’t stop aging. The phrase ‘anti-aging supplement’ is pretty much a marketing ploy to play on that universal desire to stop the aging process, and you’re going to get old no matter what you do. Hopefully everyone knows this, but I just wanted to remind you in case you forgot.

The good news is there are certainly things out there that can slow some of the effects of aging down. You can avoid too much sunlight or wear sunscreen a lot, you can get a lot of antioxidants in your diet and generally eat right, and you can get some regular exercise. Also, avoiding stress, smoking or excessive drinking, and getting enough sleep every night helps a lot as well. Not really any of those things can you get from an anti-aging supplement, with the exception of perhaps some vitamins and antioxidants.

So what the heck is in anti-aging supplements anyway? Your guess is as good as mine. Every anti-aging supplement I’ve seen has had a different and unique list of ingredients, and some of them are just plain bizarre. The only things that seem to be common denominators in the anti-aging supplements I’ve seen advertised on TV or across the internet are indeed vitamins and antioxidants.

By taking a multivitamin everyday and eating plenty of fruit and vegetables you get all of the same things anyway; its funny that as soon as their put into a pill form they become an ‘anti-aging supplement’. For the most part, I think the label anti-aging supplement is just an excuse to charge a lot more for some vitamin compounds that would otherwise be fairly cheap to get on their own.

One type of anti-aging supplement that may have some serious promise is HGH, or human growth hormone. While its far too early to tell, from what I’ve read and heard it looks like a treatment with HGH pills could have a lot of anti-aging effects. Unfortunately, its going to be awhile before its effect on adults in an anti-aging supplement capacity is going to be fully studied and understood, so don’t get too excited just yet. Until then you can keep dumping your money on vitamins and antioxidants if it makes you feel better.

31. Safe Teen Wieght Loss is very important in our fast passed world
Losing weight is tough for anyone to do, but teen weight loss and weight loss for children can be very difficult. They don’t have the willpower some adults have to stop eating junk food and to exercise more. Children and teens would much rather continue eating the sweets that they enjoy and playing the video games that entertain them and make them feel great. They could care less about their health until they get teased. Once teasing starts then they want to make a change. They start to realize that they need help and they can’t do it on their own. A great way for children and teens to get out there and to lose weight is with teen weight loss camps.

These programs are specifically designed for children and teens to lose weight and to get more active. At most teen wieght loss camps, you aren’t allowed on your laptop or to play video games. You wake up every morning to a healthy breakfast and then you are either out on the lake swimming and being active or else you are on the soccer field running around. There are also gyms that the campers can work out at too which have trainers in them to help the kids in need.

32. What treatment for heart disease is best for YOU?
Unfortunately there is no one treatment for heart disease as there is not one but many causes for this problem. When you are at the beginning of the ladder the treatment is not too serious as the risk in this bracket is low. The main objective of any treatment is to keep the heart running smoothly.

For this purpose, there are many tablets that can work wonders such as nitrates, calcium channel blockers and beta blockers among others

which promote the proper functioning of the heart. Some of these tablets influence the heart to beat faster or slower while others help in clearing the arteries so the blood can flow freely.

There are other medications (which are known as statins) that clear the plaque formed by bad cholesterol and there is the ever-green aspirin which thins the blood in such a manner that it cannot create the blood clots that could lead to heart attack.

Of course, all this medication is to be taken only on doctor's advice; however, before you accept the prescription and advice make sure you understand exactly what is the problem you are suffering from and how would the medicines work for you. Do not be afraid to ask questions when treatment for heart disease is involved – this is really a matter of life and death.

33. Safeguarding your kids health
Your kids health depends on you, an awesome responsibility. If you consistently make exercise a part of every day's normal activity, encourage good eating habits and discourage excessive sweets in a low-key way, your kids will reap the benefits. Teaching your kids why certain foods are good for different parts of their bodies goes a very long way towards making them willing adherants to your cause. Kids do always ask "Why?", right? Here's your chance. Like this post? Publish It On Your Own Blog

34. Safe weight loss and the best way to lose weight
Current health news reports are replete with stories of how so many Americans are obese. Fully one third of us in America are now considered obese. Probably a good many more are somewhat overweight. Even if you just want to lose ten pounds, the question always is, what is the best way to lose weight? There are plenty of diet programs to try. Some work for you, while your friend gets disappointing results. Perhaps there are genetic factors involved. Lifestyle surely plays a role. Let's take a look at some common sense starting points to help you choose a diet and exercise program that is your best way to lose weight. Your first step to success is making a commitment to your cause. One good technique to make your commitment more difficult to back away from is to write a message to yourself, stating, "I will lose x pounds by (date). My goal is x pounds per week." Below your commitment statement, list all the reasons for your weight loss program. For example, "to feel more energetic, to look nice in clothes, to be proud of my body". Post your commitment message on the door of your frig. Now you must decide on the form of exercise that you will abide by every day. Your best way to lose weight must consist of program elements that are right for you. If you hate jogging, that won't work. Get online and look up charts which compare different forms of exercise and tell you how many calories you'll burn per hour at each activity. You may be surprised to find that certain household tasks, like vacuuming, consume a considerable number of calories. If you dislike most sports, you might go for the cleanest home in the neighborhood! If you enjoy bowling, take some of the money you'll save on fast food and bowl every day. Choose an activity you enjoy. Get a calorie counting book. Make a list of healthy foods you like and count your calories. Cover the food groups. You needn't deny yourself everything you love. If you love french fries, butter, chocolate cake and ice cream, it's obvious you can't have it all, but your best way to lose weight program requires that you not be tormented each day. Choose just one indulgence food and allow yourself a small portion once or twice a week. The rest of your menu should consist of lean meats, fruits, veggies, whole grain breads and a good vitamin and mineral supplement. Sugar freaks, switch to Splenda(, a sugar substitute that tastes just like the real McCoy. At mealtime, eat slowly and savor every bite. You'll experience a sense of fullness long before the fast diner. You'll eat less as a result. Talk with your doctor. Pass your menus by him or her for approval and suggestions. Now that you're committed to your program, you've found your best way to lose weight! Like this post? Publish It On Your Own Blog

35. What is Your idea of Healthy Living
The definition of healthy living is different for each and every person, but there are two things that most agree on. You have to learn to eat good foods that nourish your body, and you have to have some sort of exercise in your day to day life. These things can be harder than people think when they set off on a new plan for a better life, and that is why it is sometimes smart to go ahead one step at a time until you have gotten where you want to be with your lifestyle habits and your health. Diet modification is a great start when moving towards healthy living. This is something that you have to be careful with, however, as there is a lot of bad advice out there. If you aren’t sure which way to turn, talk with your doctor about changing your diet for healthy living, and get recommendations from them. They will probably know the name of a good nutritionist that can get you going on the right track. These people can show you what you should be eating, what to avoid, and what you can have in moderation. A nutritionist should have a college degree, so don’t be afraid to ask them about their training. If you aren’t sure about exercise in regards to healthy living, know that any type of movement is good for you. If you are not someone who moves around a lot, you can get some great benefits from just walking around the block. After a while, you may want to add more to your routine, and that is when a gym is a great idea. You should hire a personal trainer to help you find the things that work best for you in your quest for healthy living. Remember, not all personal trainers are good. If someone seems off or you don’t like what they are doing, do yourself a favor and move on to the next one. Other parts of healthy living might be things you have to quit doing. This might mean you have to find a way to stop smoking, and you may have to alter or lower your intake of alcohol. You may have more trouble with these than anything else that you do. What you should do is visit with your doctor again, only this time tell them you want help with quitting or cutting back. There is a lot of emphasis on healthy living these days, and most doctors will be glad to help you in your quest, even if they feel that they have to refer you to someone else. It’ll be hard to change all of these things, but once you get going, you will enjoy your results too much to turn back to life before you found healthy habits. Like this post? 36. What is alternative health care and how does it effect me?
Alternative health care encompasses diagnosis and treatment programs which analyze body systems as a whole. While the medical doctor treats the symptoms of the patient, the alternative practitioner approaches disease as a systemic condition. The condition which brings the patient to the doctor may be only a symptom of an underlying problem of another area or organ.

37. What is alternative health care and how does it affect you?
Health care has become a major issue for most Americans. Costs are skyrocketing, many of us do not have health care coverage and a visit to the doctor can prove both costly and unfruitful. The typical medical doctor has spent about eleven years in college and residency programs to earn their degree. While well educated, sometimes they don't have all the answers. Due not to poor education, but perhaps a limited scope, the M.D. can not always help the patient resolve their health issue. In the last thirty years or so, alternative health care has sought to fill in the gaps. Allopathic medicine is the purvue of the medical doctor, dealing with the strict science of disease conditions. Pharmaceutical prescriptions, lab analysis and surgery are the main treatments available. For example, if you are frequently prone to bronchitis, the allopathic practitioner may prescribe antiobiotics to resolve the infectious condition and thus bring it under control. The holistic practitioner may instead view the bronchitis as an underlying weakness of the immune system. The naturopathic, or holistic practitioner, recognizes that the bronchitis must be treated and may dispense a number of herbs which are natural antibiotics, such as garlic or elecampane root, a specific for respiratory problems to eliminate the coughing and excessive accumulation of phlegm. However, the alternative health practitioner won't stop there. He or she may also prescribe a natural immune system booster, such as echinacea, to get at the root of the problem which is causing the recurrent bouts of bronchitis. This alternative approach can eliminate the problem altogether. Other examples of alternative health approaches include quit-smoking programs. While your regular M.D. may prescribe nicotine patches, they don't work for everyone. One alternative health discipline, accupuncture, employs the use of fine needles, placed along one of the 700-plus meridians established in Chinese medicine, to eliminate the desire to smoke. Many people successfully quit with such an alternative health approach. Like this post? Publish It On Your Own Blog

38. Healthy choices in our fast food diets
Who prepares the meals in your home? Having a family of my own, I certainly know that someone is the cook of the household. It's one of those things you just decide at some point, or maybe it just happens. I decided to do all the cooking in my home years ago. Hey, this way I can decide what we eat each day. It's not a bad deal when you think about it. And it's not like you're preparing three meals a day. In this contemporary society, it's more like one. Everyone always snags their own quick breakfast, and we're all in separate places at lunch time, therefore being the cook mostly concerns dinner. While I do strive to prepare healthy dinners on a regular basis, I can't help but wonder what my family consumes for lunch and breakfast. More and more people seem to just swing by a local fast food joint for a quick number 2 value meal, or a Whopper with extra cheese. Now, we all know this isn't a healthy route to choose. However, Americans are clearly into convenience, and the ever-popular fast food joint isn't fading away any time soon. The good news is they are coming out with a few healthy fast food items. Check the latest menus at the drive-thru. What is your favorite fast food restaurant? Do you prefer the Big Mac combo at McDonalds, or the crispy chicken strips meal at KFC? Regardless of what you prefer to scarf down on your lunch break, you don't have to go in blind any more. These days we have the power to become privy to all fast foods. Yes indeed, I am talking about the Internet. Are you aware of the healthy fast food, and the heart-stopper meals? Some of these combo deals are infused with fat and cholesterol, while others aren't so unhealthy. Take the Whopper for instance. This is a well known poor food product. You would never consider it a healthy fast food. However, if you order it with just the basics, like ketchup, mustard, pickles and onions, it's not nearly as bad. One of the popular healthy fast food items is the plain old roast beef sandwich at Arby's. You can choose from other healthy fast food such as salads with fat free dressing and no cheese. Are you searching for some healthy fast food on your lunch break? Well, it's time to get online, folks. The Internet provides you with a nutrition guide for any and all fast food. It's time to find out what is healthy fast food and what should be avoided. Like this post? Publish It On Your Own Blog

39. Learning all you can about vitamins Part2
Back to the idea of getting all the vitamins we need from our daily diet, that may have actually been more true 100 years ago than it is today. Now so much of our food is cut, dried, canned, pounded, extracted, packaged and repackaged, in other words highly processed that many of the vitamins that promote health are lost in the process. Having the food production and distribution system that we now have means that fewer people go hungry, but it also means that a lot of what's filling our bellies doesn't contain enough nutrients for optimal health. That means taking vitamin supplements is a very good idea. Eating as many fresh vegetables, fresh fruits and whole grains as possible helps too. In earlier times, those were the main elements of people's day-to-day diets. Subscribing to a newsletter, such as Andrew Weil's, Dr. Susan Lark's or Dr. David Williams' is a great way to learn more about vitamins. Each of them sell 30-day supplies of multivitamin formulas that you can order online or by phone. Some formulas are made just for women, some for athletes, some for seniors and some for certain medical conditions. Some vitamins will agree with you more than others. The thing to do is read up on them a little bit, try some and see if your overall energy and resistance to illness increases. Like this post? Publish It On Your Own Blog

40. Learning all you can about vitamins part1
The amount of information available about vitamins today is almost overwhelming. But that's actually an improvement over several decades ago when most people gave vitamins little thought. Even doctors used to say that we can get all the vitamins we need from our daily diet. They didn't used to know that smoking is linked to cancer either. Now many doctors recommend that people take at least a daily multivitamin, and there is a growing trend in the medical professions for doctors to learn more about nutrition and vitamins and how they affect health. Even now, however, many medical schools don't offer much in their curricula in terms of nutrition, vitamin intake and their role in staying healthy. That's partly because in the West doctors are trained to treat disease. They don't necessarily learn very much about how vitamins can keep you healthy. We've got all sorts of high tech interventions, drugs and therapies that save lives. It's almost like magic. But vitamins can play a role in helping many of us avoid the need for drugs and invasive medical procedures down the road. Like this post? Publish It On Your Own Blog

41. Its about time for more Heart Healthy Foods
What is your favorite place to eat? If I ask my daughter this question, she always says the same thing. I would think her opinion would change rather frequently, but she always replies with McDonalds. Even though we only go there once in a blue moon, she still praises its happy meals and soft drinks. However, one thing I did notice the last time we passed through their drive-thru was the after-math. I'm talking about what happened with my daughter's stomach after she ate that chicken nugget happy meal. She basically had a tummy ache. Now that's no fun at all. Certainly not what you see advertised on the commercials. Although at first I thought she ate too much, my family doctor later pointed something out to me. Fast food is horrible! Since we only hit up a fast food joint a few times each year, my daughter's body pretty much rejected it. We plain and simply weren't meant to eat that stuff. It's basically poison for our bodies. It's time for some nutritious, heart healthy diets. Things have got to change.

Do you focus on good heart healthy diets each and every day? You know, your life could depend on it. Not to mention the lives of your other family members. Not to be insulting, but I've certainly noticed something about families in the last couple years. Overweight parents have overweight children. It makes me so sad to see a seven year old that's already way overweight. It all goes back to the parents. They're the one responsible for providing heart healthy diets for their little ones. Sure we can blame all the fast food chains all we want. But, the fact is we choose what we consume. It's time to stop being lazy and start eating healthy. Believe me, it's never too soon to begin heart healthy diets. You should actually start your little ones while they're still young. This way they will have no problem continuing the heart healthy diets as they age. Things you want to be sure and avoid in your meals are loads of fat, salt, sugar, and cholesterol. None of these are good for your body. Focus more on protein, calcium, vitamins and minerals. These are the very building blocks for heart healthy diets. Don't you want to live a long and healthy life? Then start eating like it. Like this post? Publish It On Your Own Blog

42. The Question is Chinese herbal medicine or Not
Chinese herbal medicine is very popular today, and is becoming more and more popular all the time. The Chinese culture has a sort of mystical and mysterious shroud around it, which has led many westerners to feel that they have many answers to things that we don’t, especially with respect to health. After all, if a people have been using a remedy for thousands of years, it has to be good, right? Well, I’m not so convinced. Certainly, some Chinese herbal medicines are no doubt effective. However, very little scientific study has been done on the vast majority of them, and I’m a little skeptical of things not rigorously tested for harmful side effects. Taking something untested is a risky crapshoot; sure, it could be really good for you, but it could also be doing all kinds of permanent damage. In my opinion, its not really worth the risk for common every day ailments, as there are plenty of proven and tested medicines available. Of course if you have something more serious, you’re probably more willing to take risks. Studying biology in college, the one thing I learned without doubt is that herbal and natural don’t always mean good or safe. Chinese herbal medicines are often exalted as being totally natural and therefore entirely safe, but many people seem to forget that the most deadly substances known to man are likewise entirely natural. I don’t mean to scare you away from ever trying a Chinese herbal medicine. Just be careful when you go looking for one, and select things that have had at least some amount of studies done on them. As a vast, ancient, and hugely populated part of the world, China no doubt does indeed have some effective remedies, but the label ‘Chinese herbal medicine’ should never be considered a guarantee for safety. The one Chinese herbal medicine I do subscribe to is their teas. While they’re maybe not medicines in the traditional sense, drinking lots of green or black tea has been linked to a lot of positive health effects, including lower risk of cancer and longer lifespan. The tea plant has been proven to contain many different antioxidants which have these positive health effects. A lot of Chinese herbal medicines also contain some amount of tea extracts, which are very likely good for you. Just make sure you look into the other ingredients a little before making a regular habit out of taking something. Like this post? Publish It On Your Own Blog

43. Mangosteen Juice
Mangosteen juice is becoming a very popular dietary health supplement in the United States and around the world. Mangosteen juice was relatively unavailable to populations outside of Southeast Asia and South America until one of the founder discovered this fruit and its health benefits, and suggested converting it into a highly consumable form, mangosteen juice. You could be the next consumer to have increased energy levels and enjoy better health. Mangosteen juice is for the whole family and isn’t contraindicated for any medical condition and has no side effects. It’s all natural and tastes great, unlike many other dietary supplements out there that you can barely choke down. Check out mangosteen juice on Triunity's website at www.acaiplus.com/easyprofits, or ask one of your local Triunity distributor. See what all the fuss is about! Like this post? 44. Losing weight through walking
For some households lose weight exercise plans seems to only be a dream. This material could benefit you giving the mind set to start losing those unwanted pounds. I have been on a number of diet and exercise programs over the years and I have achieved the most success through a common everyday activity. Walking and weight loss go hand-in-hand. It may seem too simple to be true, but I have more success losing weight and keeping weight off through a walking program than I do on a structured exercise program. I have lost more through a walking program than through dieting as well. I discovered the walking and weight loss connection while I was a student in college. Most freshman college students gain between twenty and thirty pounds in their first year at school. For the first time in many students’ lives, they have to make their own decisions about eating and exercise. Many students’ walking program consists of walking from the dormitory to the classroom and back. I was one of the students who had no real walking program. I didn’t make the connection between walking and weight loss right away. I wound up gaining twenty-five pounds in the first semester of college, but I didn’t realize that I needed to connect walking and weight loss until I tried dieting. Before I started a walking program in school, the idea of walking and weight loss being so closely tied together did not occur to me. Instead, I tried changing my diet. I ate salads at nearly every meal. I had no breakfast and I did not really have a whole meal until the evening. I probably only took in about nine hundred calories each day, but I did not see very good results. I had to think back to a time when I was fit to make the walking and weight loss connection. I was a heavy student in high school and I dieted a lot. One diet was very successful for me during the end of my high school career. I was involved in an after school program that I attended every day. Since I could not ride the bus home from school, I simply walked the two mile commute home five days a week. I did not consider this an actual walking program, but it really was. The only differences between my lifestyle in high school and in college were that I ate more and I walked almost every day. Once I made the walking and weight loss connection, the rest was easy. I just started a simple walking program that consisted of taking a relaxing walk at least three times each week. I did not really worry about dieting, but I made sure to eat breakfast and to eat small meals throughout the day. I also avoided eating after eight o’clock in the evening. Within a few weeks, I found myself proving the walking and weight loss connection. I lost the twenty five pounds. Like this post? Publish It On Your Own Blog

45. Acne Treatments that really work for you
A lot of people think of acne as just one of those annoying things that everyone has to go to in adolescence, but for some people it is much worse. Acne treatments are usually simply a convenience – something to make pimply teens feel better about the way they look – but if you have severe scarring acne, they are a necessity. Bad acne is not always something that will go away on its own. If it is bad enough, it can leave scars on the face that can last for the rest of your life. That doesn't mean that every acne treatment has to be drastic. A lot of people get by with pretty simple acne treatments using little more than soap, water, and common sense. When my best friend in high school came down with a bad acne breakout, his mom put him on a strict diet. He ate a lot of fruits and vegetables, cut out all processed foods, and gave up beef and fatty meats. In addition, he got an acne cleanser – basically rubbing alcohol with a little mojo – and took to washing his face three or four times a day. His face cleared up within a week, all without the use of any drastic acne treatments. My case was different. I got little benefit from facial cleansers and soaps. Although eating badly made my acne worse, eating well did not make it much better. My mom was getting worried that I would get scars, so she took me to the dermatologist. The doctor was glad that I had come in. apparently, acne scar treatment is a whole lot more difficult than treating the acne itself before it gets to that point. He provided a facial cream called Retin-A, and told me to come back if the problem did not go away. At first, I was skeptical that things would get any better. After four days of using his prescribed acne treatments, things had barely improved. I decided to be patient, however, and gave it another week. Slowly but surely, my face started to look better and better. The cream did not work by itself, but with the aid of careful eating habits and frequent facial cleansing, it did the job. Soon, I was almost entirely pimple free. I still had to watch out for occasional breakouts, but after going to the doctor, it was never that bad anymore. Like this post? Publish It On Your Own Blog

47. Fitness, Exercise and Weight Loss
You wouldn't know it by looking at Americans, but life is much more enjoyable if you're healthy and in good shape. What; you don't believe me? Okay, allow me to elaborate. When you're in great shape, you're able to function easier. This is because your body is carrying around less fat and your heart is in better condition. Not to mention the fact that you'll feel much more confident if you're in great shape. You'll take pride in your appearance and not struggle to hide your flabby thighs or pooch belly. So, now you're probably ready to get started. Okay, let's talk fitness exercise routines and healthy diets. There's no big secret that eating right is crucial if you plan on living long and staying healthy. This does not only concern the well-being of your body, but it includes your mind as well. Poor diet can have a terrible effect on your mind. What you need to focus on is low-fat foods that are high in nutritional value. Avoid fatty meats and processed foods like chips and microwave dinners. To keep things simple, you want meals that have little sodium, saturated fat, and sugar. Water should be the main beverage you consume. Then there's the fitness exercise aspect. Eating healthy is awesome, but if you want to get that body conditioned, then you have to adopt a fitness exercise routine that works for you. If you're currently overweight, then you should probably begin with cardio exercises. Try an elliptical machine, tread mill, jogging around your neighborhood, and plenty of crunches. It's good to mix up your exercises, because this keeps the body guessing. This way your muscles don't get too used to the routine. Cardio is your best bet for burning calories. Once you get down to the weight you prefer, you can add a few strength training fitness exercise regimens. The reason this is better left until after your weight is down, basically concerns weight gain. As you build muscle with weight training, you'll naturally gain weight. This makes losing weight confusing for some. Hey, it's time to get started with your new fitness exercise schedule. And remember, the key is sticking to the program. This is how you'll see results.

There are plenty of things to consider before making a purchase. Following are some guidelines to help you determine the best skin care product for your specific needs. The first thing that comes to mind when we think about beauty supplies is age. A teenager will definitely have different needs than a woman entering menopause. We all go through different phases in life and the best skin care product one year will not be the best the next year. Consider your current needs first. Next, you need to determine your specific skin type. The best skin care product for a person with very dry skin may be the same brand that suits a person with an oily complexion. The great thing is that one brand will offer a different product for specific skin types. Don’t forget your lifestyle. The outdoorsy type who spends many hours on the beach will have different needs than a person who spends many hours on the ski slope. The only thing that we all have in common is the need to protect ourselves from the sun’s rays. The best skin care product on the market for anyone who spends a lot of time outside is sun block. Lifestyle also involves our habits. Even the best skin care product can’t beat a good night’s sleep and plenty of water and vitamins. You should feed your complexion from the inside out. Your eating, drinking and general lifestyle will show up in your skin no matter what topical solutions you use. Your diet and exercise routine will also have a profound effect on your complexion. Take care of yourself and you will find that the best skin care product is a cinch to find. It takes very little to address the needs of skin that is healthy from the inside out. No matter how well we take care of ours
